Lyman A. Lawrence, 88, of Davenport died on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Jersey Ridge Place in Davenport. A private family inurnment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lyman Allen Lawrence was born on January 16, 1929 in Manitowac, WI, the son of Curtis and Estella (Spatz) Lawrence. Following high school, Lyman joined the United States Army. He served as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict, earning the Korean Medal with Bronze Service Star and the United Nations Service Medal - 5 Overseas Bars. On July 12, 1951, he married Mildred "Millie" C. Spangler in Davenport. She preceded him in death in 2016. Lyman worked as a powerhouse assistant at Oscar Mayer for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1982. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling, and attending Willie Nelson concerts with Millie. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
He is survived by a Son: Curtis (Kathy) Lawrence of Davenport.

and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Lawrence; and brothers, James and Jerome Lawrence.
