Lyle E. Davis, 79, of Sioux City, IA passed away on November 11, 2017 at a Sioux City hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Sioux City, IA. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and the rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.
Lyle was born on May 2, 1938 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Frank and Alice (Ridley) Davis. He grew up in Mapleton, IA, and also lived in Sioux City, Sergeant Bluff and South Sioux City. Lyle married Darlene Goreham on March 23, 1973 in Dakota City, NE. He was a jet mechanic, serving in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and the Air National Guard for 26 years. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, before retiring as a Master Sergeant.
Lyle enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, bowling, watching hockey games and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
