moving to Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge in 2006. Ruth and Lloyd were married just a few days short of 69 years before his death in April of 2014. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter Jennifer Jeanine (Schwendemann) Gibson; sister Neoma Sweet; and brother Otis Lindhart.
Ruth is survived by daughter Sharon (Schwendemann) Bartlett and her husband Paul of Orange City; granddaughter Addison Bartlett and her husband Daniel Cordova, and great-granddaughter Johana Cordova of Carroll; granddaughter Anna Bartlett of Orange City; sister Maralyn Ball of Webb, sister Lila Weber of West Bend; brother Charles Lindhart and his wife Ruth of Dekalb IL; sister-in-law Ruth Lindhart of Williamsburg, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was a long-time member of the Burnside Baptist Church and later the First Baptist Church of Fort Dodge. She was active in American Baptist Women's ministries and was employed for several years at the Dayton Oaks Baptist camp. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a Webster County 4-H club leader.
Ruth enjoyed and was very talented at sewing, piecing quilts, baking, photography, and flower gardening. She particularly enjoyed the programming on Iowa Public Television and Iowa Public Radio, and she attended many local musical and theater productions. She and Lloyd were able to travel extensively, particularly in their retirement years, both nationally and internationally. Memorials may be directed to the Friendship Haven Care Trust or Good Samaritan Fund.
