Robert H. (Bob) Segerstrom, age 81 of Forest City, died Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the Manly Care Center in Manly, Iowa. According to Bob's wishes, his body has been donated to the Mayo Clinic Medical Research Program. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 12 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Forest City with Pastor Larry Kidwell officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Oakland Cemetery in Forest City. Robert H. (Bob) Segerstrom was born on the family farm in Mt. Valley Township, near Forest City, Iowa on November 29, 1924, the son of A. Frank and Hilma (Johnson) Segerstrom. He spent his lifetime farming in the area. Bob graduated from Forest City High School in 1942 and began farming with his father and brother. On December 16, 1950, he married Muriel Peterson of Red Wing, Minnesota and they continued to run the family dairy farm together until 1990. Bob passed away at the Manly Care Center in Manly, Iowa on Thursday, September 7, 2006, at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his wife, Muriel, of Forest City, daughter Carol of Fridley, Minnesota, son Lowell and wife Kerri of Forest City, son-in-law Paul Gremillion and wife Chris of Forest City, grandchildren Daniel Gremillion of Minneapolis & fiancÈe Marisa, Derek, Brooke, Austin, Colton, Ethan, Noah, Emma and Abigail Segerstrom of Forest City. Also surviving is BobÃs sister, Mildred Peterson of Eagan, Minnesota, his brother Benjamin Segerstrom and wife Muriel of Owatonna, Minnesota, sisters-in-law Myrtle Segerstrom of Chisholm, Minnesota and Betty Segerstrom of Waterloo, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Martha Gremillion and brothers Milton and Charles Segerstrom.
