Robert Keith Orton was born on September 2, 1936, in Adel, Iowa, son of Loren and Ruby (Hunt) Orton. After graduating from high school, he served his country in the United States Army. After an honorable discharge, Bob went to work in a variety of different jobs throughout his life. Bob did many different jobs including helping his father with farming, cement work, painting, and driving trucks. During his free time, Bob was a great bowler, getting close to the perfect 300 score on multiple occasions. He also enjoyed dancing with his wife of 12 years, Madonna. The two made a wonderful pair, dancing to whatever music they could find.
Robert passed away at the age of 81 years, surrounded by his loving family on November 16, 2017, at Cedar Valley Hospice House of Waterloo. He is survived by his wife, his two children; Richard (Suzanne) Orton of Fort Worth, TX and Denise Orton of Carrollton, TX; his sister; Virginia Harwell of Mesa, AZ; 8 stepchildren, including his special stepdaughter, Debbi Porter, who was by his side until he passed; 28 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren.
