returned to Wyoming where he was employed by Etlin Peterson Construction building highway bridges. There he traveled the state from work site to work site moving frequently when in 1971 he was asked to be part of a new venture by the company in building steel industrial buildings with a newly created company, Turnkey Construction. This allowed him to settle down and raise his family in Casper Wyoming and where he became an expert in erecting prefabricated steel buildings and along with Clint Larson founded Larson Construction. In his off time he farmed several hundred acres of alfalfa and raised horses for leisure. In 1993 Jenifer's employer transferred her to Des Moines Iowa and Gary started his own small business there, Gary's Home Repair & Remodeling, until his retirement in 2005. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, throwing horseshoes (winning many tournament trophies), going to the rodeos, and shooting pool. He would plan his vacations around hunting season spending his time in the Gros Ventre Wilderness and Big Horn Mountains. Gary had an adventurous sprit that kept him horseback riding, riding trials and dirt motorcycles, snowmobiles, waterskiing, competing in demolition derbies, driving dirt track stock cars, and he even skydived at the age of 60 thanks to his friend Galin. As a testament to his contributions and impact to the Casper Wyoming area the street where he worked now bears his name "Grey Cloud Drive". Since his retirement Gary spent most of his time traveling with Jenifer to visit friends and family. From Niagara Falls to the Pacific Northwest Tacoma area to Houston Texas. He was a life time member of the V.F.W., American Legion and a member of the Amateur Pool Players Association. His dedication to his family was steady and unwavering. Memorial services will be held at the Urbandale Iowa American Legion Monday the 20th of November 2017 at 3:00pm. Interment will be at the Wheatland Cemetery, Wheatland Wyoming with his beloved wife, Jenifer, in August 2018. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
