Norman Blanford, 61, of 1412 Timea Street, died at 3:40 A.M. Monday, June 24, 2002, at Montebello Health Care Center in Hamilton, Illinois. Norman Blanford was born on July 25, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was the son of Joseph Norman and Pauline Ann Harris Blanford. He married Jolene Perry on September 24, 1988 at the Elks Club in Keokuk. She survives. He was employed at Stone Container for thirty years in production. He was a member of Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #106 and the American Legion Post # 41. He had served in the United States Navy. He played golf and other sports, and was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the L.A. Dodgers. Survivors include his wife, Jolene Blanford of Keokuk, Iowa; one daughter, Stacey Blanford and her companion, Mike Shinn of Keokuk; one son, Steve Blanford and his wife, Tamara, of Keokuk; two grandchildren, Stefanie Blanford and Dylan Blanford; four step-grandchildren, Eric Shearer, Michael John Shinn, Alexandria Shinn, and Tia Harrison; four brothers, Bobby Joe Blanford and his wife, Wanda, of Louisville, Kentucky, Keith Dennis Blanford and his wife, Linda, of Louisville, Kentucky, Larry Charles Blanford and his wife, Vickie, of Montro...[more]

Iowa and Barry Allen Blanford and his wife, Angie, of Louisville, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Jean Whitely in December, 1999 and JoAnn Blanford in September, 1956. Services were Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk with Vic Coston officiating. Burial with full military rites was in Keokuk National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lee County Hospice.
