William "Cody" Myers, 16, of Montrose, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 05, 2002. William "Cody" Myers was born on July 3, 1985 in Keokuk, Iowa. He was the son of Kyle "Kip" Myers and Kim Gullick Myers. He was a lifelong resident of the Keokuk-Montrose area and would have been a junior at Central Lee High School in the fall of 2002. At Central Lee, he was an honor student and was a member of the Science Club, Band, Chorus & Show Choir, Golf Team, Football, and the Quiz Bowl team. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Keokuk. Survivors include his father, Kyle "Kip" Myers of East Peoria, Illinois; his mother, Kim Myers of Montrose, Iowa; maternal grandparents, William and Shelby Gullick of Keokuk, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Larry and Mary Myers of Kahoka, Missouri; uncles, Michael Gullick of Warsaw, Illinois and Kent Myers and his wife,Tammy of Keokuk, Iowa; aunts, Kathryn Geren and her husband, Mike, of Rainier, Oregon and Kathy Huls and her husband, Eric, of Hamilton, Illinois; cousins, Shelby Marie Geren, Justin, Hilary & Blake Myers, and Samuel & Levi Huls; maternal great-grandmother, Ethel Stinson of Keokuk, Iowa and two paternal great-grandmothers, Lucille Myers...[more]

Keokuk and Lois Butler of East Peoria, Illinois. He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents and paternal great-grandfathers. Services were Saturday, June 8, 2002 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk with Reverend Paul Pennington officiating. Burial was in Sandusky Cemetery north of Keokuk. Memorial may be made to the Central Lee Science Club.
