Maxine M. Earls, 82, of Keokuk, Iowa died Sunday, November 24, 2002 at 6:32 P.M. at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa
Maxine Earls was born on December 9, 1919 in Nauvoo, Illinois. She was the daughter of W.F. and Myrtle Hummel Hamma. She married Gerald Earls on April 3, 1942 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 9, 1992. She and her husband, Gerald, owned and operated G.S. Earls Jewelry in Keokuk for forty years. She was a previous member of the Congregational Church of Keokuk and was a fifty-year member of Elmira Chapter #40, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Earls of Keokuk; two grandchildren, Tony Haase & Cody Earls; two great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Earl Kendall of Carthage, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
There was an Eastern Star Memorial Service on Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk. Burial will follow the service at the Nauvoo City Cemetery in Nauvoo, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners' Childrens Hospitals.
