Dorothy Yarrington Valeu

Dorothy Yarrington Valeu, 85, of Keokuk, died at 5:29 PM Friday, October 3, 2003, at Keokuk Area Hospital. She was born October 2, 1918, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of George and Elsie Jones Montague. She married Marion Lee Yarrington in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1964. She married Arthur "Ray" Valeu on August 23, 1973. She was employed in the dietary department at Keokuk Area Hospital for 11 years, retiring at the age of 62. She was of the Protestant faith. She was a member of AARP. She loved to read a wide variety of books until she lost her eyesight. She loved and deeply cared for people she knew. She is survived by two sons, Jerry W. Yarrington of Kansas City, Missouri and Ronald Yarrington of Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Chris Denson of Springfield, Illinois and Kathy Joan Chatelain of Hamilton, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Brenda Yarrington, Becky Nelson, Tamara Mattingly, Matt Denson, Kevin Lorigan, Nicole Mason and Jess Carlton; twelve great grandchildren; and three sisters, Edna Kay of Keokuk, Marjorie Head of Hamilton, Illinois and Helen Boddy of Keokuk.
