James Vernon "Bud" Washington, age 74 of Winchester, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at his residence. He was born February 27, 1943 in Chattanooga to the late Julian Vernon and Lyda Lillian Anderson Washington. He was a member of the Army Reserve, a storekeeper at AEDC and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching UT football, going to car shows and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Chris Hill. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Washington of Winchester; daughters, Carol (Mike) McGlynn of Murfreesboro and Leigh Washington Hill of Winchester; brother, Thomas Washington of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Ilissa Wood (fiance' Dusty Brown) and Haley (Matt) Ogles of Murfreesboro; and great-grandchildren, Lillian Grace and Brody James. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Tuesday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
