Alma Grace Roush, 87, of Conesville, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Trinity Hospital, Muscatine. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Interment will be in the Conesville Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Conesville Community Center. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Alma Grace's name. Alma Grace Smith was born on March 19, 1930 in Morning Sun, the daughter of Dale and Amy Stewart Smith. Alma Grace was a 1947 graduate of Morning Sun High School. osted an annual Christmas Celebration with Santa, organized an annual Easter egg hunt in the Spring, organized the games for children at the annual Melon Day celebration and picked up trash in town as well as highway ditches. She was instrumental in planning and construction coordination of the Conesville Community Center. She served on the Orono Township Election board, as an election official in Conesville City Council and Primary and General Election. She also served on the Conesville Watermelon Days Committee for several years. She enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, embroidery, wood searches and cleaning.
Alma will be deeply missed by her husband, Woody of Conesville; children, Patricia "Patty" Lewis and husband, Stacy of Muscatine, Bill Roush of Iowa City and Darrell Roush of Iowa City; seven grandchildren, Matt Cross, Luke (Sara) Cross, Tricia (Andrew) Denniger, Elsabeth (Matthew) Hepworth, Jeanette (Ryan) Roush-Karaft, Mitchell Roush and Kelli Roush; and great grandchildren, Colby, Karolina, Caleb and Conrad Cross.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Nellie Dopler and one sister and brother in infancy, Leon and Darlene Smith.
