Ted L. Gorham, 77, of Keokuk, Iowa, died Sunday, September 26, 2004 at 3:00 A.M. at his home in Keokuk.
Ted Gorham was born on February 8, 1927 in Mt. Union, Iowa. He was the son of Joe and Dimple Fern Aldridge Gorham. He married Shirley Holmes on August 20, 1949 in Ft. Madison, Iowa. She survives. He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a helicopter mechanic. He had lived in Keokuk for the last sixty years and had been employed at General Mills first as a mechanic and then as a foreman. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a loyal friend to all who knew him. He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Gorham, of Keokuk, Iowa; a son, Doug Gorham, of Keokuk; two special granddaughters, Teddi and Katie, of Keokuk, Iowa; four brothers, Richard Gorham of Keokuk, Iowa, Jack Gorham of Keokuk, Iowa, Robert Gorham of Palmyra, Missouri, and John Gorham of Ft. Madison, Iowa; and one sister, Wahneta Morelang of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
Services were Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk with Reverend Dan Deatrick...[more]
