Michael Venning

Michael Joseph Venning, 48, of Keokuk died Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa. Michael Venning was born on May 5, 1956 in Miami, Florida. He was the son of Benjamin Dale and Barbara Jean Hyed (Correct spelling) Venning. He graduated from Coral Gables High School and attended Miami Dade Community College in Miami, Florida for one year. He was self-employed as a farmer. He was a former member of the Keokuk Elks Lodge, a member of the Keokuk Yacht Club, and a member of God's Way Christian Center. He enjoyed gardening and giving the food he grew to people in the community. He was very passionate about his Christian beliefs. Survivors include his mother, Barbara Venning of Keokuk, Iowa; two sisters, Suzanne Nihill and her husband, Anthony, of Boise, Idaho and Bobbye McNish and her husband, David, of Keokuk, Iowa; one brother, Dale Venning and his wife, Cindy, of Ranchos Palos Verdes, California; his great aunt, Edith Denmire of Keokuk, Iowa; his uncle, Earl Hyed and four cousins of Atlanta, Georgia; six nieces; three nephews; and cousins, Barbara Babington and Helen Anderson of Keokuk, Iowa. one aunt, Martha Lee Venning, and one uncle, Frank Joseph Venning, Jr. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. at God's Way Christian Center in Keokuk with Reverend Sylvia Tillman officiating. There will be no visitation. The body will be cremated. Memorials may be made to the God's Way Christian Center, 1623 Des Moines Street, Keokuk, Iowa 52632. Memorials will be used to provide food for people in the community.
