Juanita Darlene Smeltser, 92 of Wayland, MO died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. She was born May 13, 1925 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Loren and Hazel Baugher. On July 12, 1960 she was united in marriage to James F. Smeltser in Marion, TX. He preceded her in death December 6, 1980. Juanita enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, tending to her flowers and gardening. She also liked keeping her mind busy by doing puzzles. She is survived by two sons, Doug Smeltser (Sabrina) and Lee Thompson (Ivona), two daughters, Karen Williams and Julie Manton (Kevin), ten grandchildren, Gordon Lee (Alyssa), David (Teresa), Logan (Janie), Brandon Manton, Danny Thompson, Laura Lee Thompson, Brandy Jo, Colten (Ashley), Lakin, Erica and Markie, several great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Wanda Baugher. She was also preceded in death by one son, Gordon Thompson, one sister, Carrie Johnson and one brother Earl Baugher. There will be no services. Grandma always said, "if you didn't see her when she was alive, no need to see her when she's dead" and "Smeltsers never die, we multiply".
