Barbara Turley

Barbara Jo (Klinkhardt) Turley, 63, of Montrose, Iowa, died at 5:00 AM, Monday, June 6, 2005 at Keokuk Area Hospital. She fought long and hard but was unable to overcome the crippling effects of Multiple Sclerosis. She was born on January 13, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee to Joseph and Irene Klinkhardt. She married William Breen Turley in August of 1968. He survives. She received her high school education in Caruthersville, Missouri, graduating in 1959 and in 1964 graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. In her early years she was employed as an executive secretary in Memphis, Tennessee, Chicago, Illinois and Keokuk. Later she was a housewife and devoted mother. She loved horses, enjoyed playing cards, was an avid reader, and approached life with a unique sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Kenneth Klinkhardt; and an infant sister Louise Klinkhardt. Memorial services were held Thursday, June 9, 2005 at DeJong's Funeral Home, with Deacon William Cosgrove officiating. friends following the services. The inurnment will be held at a later date.
