Born on April 18, 1951 at Carroll, Iowa, Mark, was the son of Lawrence and Estella (Reising) Steinkamp. He grew up northwest of Breda, and graduated from St. Bernard's High School in 1969. After graduation Mark proudly served his country by joining the Army National Guard.
On June 1, 1973 Mark was united in marriage to Renee Sporrer at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The couple made their home northwest of Breda where Mark farmed until 1996. In 1996 Mark, and Renee moved to the Carroll community. After moving to Carroll, Mark worked for Farner Bocken, and Pella Corporation. Mark then drove truck for Mid-Continent, a position he held for 17 years.
Mark enjoyed farming, and driving truck. He also enjoyed playing cards with his card club, watching sports, and playing with his grandkids. Most of all Mark enjoyed the time he spent with his family, and the love of his life, Renee. Mark was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll.
Left to celebrate Mark's life is his wife Renee Steinkamp of Carroll; his children: Michelle (Richard) Mohr of Carroll, Ben (fiancé Tammy Humlicek) Steinkamp of Halbur, Jaime Steinkamp of Prole, and Anne (Eric) Delaney of DeSoto; grandchildren: Lexi Steinkamp, David Steinkamp, Jack Gordon, Haley Steinkamp, Carter Mohr, Molly Mohr, and Collin Delaney; siblings: Leon (Dorothy) Steinkamp of Grand Meadow, MN, LuVerne Steinkamp of Taopi, MN, Neil (Marie) Steinkamp of Lake View, Everett Dean (Mary) Steinkamp of Lee's Summit, MO, Orlin (Myra) Steinkamp of Wall Lake, Denny (Vivian) Steinkamp of Des Moines, a sister-in-law: Millie Steinkamp of Wall Lake; his parents-in-law: Duane and Vera Sporrer of Carroll, his sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law: Rhonda (Don) Reinhart of Guthrie Center, Vicki (Ron) Lengeling of Carroll, Jim Sporrer of Des Moines, Roxane (Bill C.) Reed of Des Moines, Lisa (Rich) Schenkelberg of Carroll, and Jodi (Tony) Bellizzi of Norwalk, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Ambrose Steinkamp, Linda (Joe) Klein, Tim Steinkamp, and a sister-in-law: Alice Steinkamp.
