Ruby Varner

Ruby J. Varner, 84, of Keokuk, died early Monday morning, November 7, 2005 at Montrose Health Center in Montrose, Iowa. Mrs. Varner was born October 2, 1921 in Bowen, Illinois, the daughter of James and Florence Shaw Miller. She married John Varner on May 31, 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri. He survivors. Mrs. Varner was self-employed and a homemaker. She was a member of Anchor of Hope Fellowship Church. She raised several foster children. She also extended her hand to help many of the young and older citizens. She is survived by her husband John Varner of Keokuk, Iowa; Two daughter: Shirley Perkins and her husband Fred of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Janet Gail and her husband Rick of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three sisters: Ethel (Miller) Turtle of Chehalis, Washington, Doris (Miller) Bowden of Quincy, Illinois, Opal (Miller) Miller of Toledo, Washington; Two brothers: Russell Miller of Olatha, Kansas, Robert Miller of Keokuk, Iowa; Four grandchildren: Carmel Sherman and her husband Donald, Amanda Grochala and her husband Brian, Neil Gail, John W.
