LaVonne Hansen, age 94, of Hampton, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Franklin Country View Nursing Facility. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. on Friday before services at the church. The Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in charge of arrangements.
LaVonne Ruth Hansen was born on September 11, 1923 in rural Franklin County, the daughter of William and Esther (Reinke) Boyenga. She graduated from the Hampton High School and on June 27, 1941 she was united in marriage to Norman Hansen in Bethany, Missouri. After their marriage they moved to the home farmstead southwest of Hampton, where they resided until retiring to Hampton in 1978. They moved to Franklin Prairie Assisted Living in 2004. LaVonne was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, V Club, and the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Society. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and quilting.
LaVonne is survived by her children, Eileen Murray of Marshalltown, Patty Voy of Alta Vista, Norma Jean Caruth and her husband, Virgil of Hollister, ...[more]
and Larry Hansen and his wife, Renee of Hampton; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Marvin Boyenga of Mason City.
LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; a sister, Doris Richtsmeier; and a son-in-law, Barry Murray.
