Dottie was born on September 22, 1923 in Harlan, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbert and Antonette (Kotynek) Dalton. Her family lived in Audubon and later moved to Carroll. She attended and graduated from St. Anthony Nursing School and practiced as a Registered Nurse at St. Anthony Hospital. Nursing was a very important part of her life as was her family. Dottie was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved all of her family and always wanted to help them. She took pride in taking care of the family home. Dottie was able to travel some to visit her brothers from time to time. Her Catholic faith was an integral part of her throughout her life and she was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church for many years.
Dottie is survived by her sister-in-law, Jane Dalton of Sioux City; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Dottie's family would like to thank St. Anthony Nursing Home and St. Anthony Hospice for their loving care she received while she was a resident at the nursing home and to her dear friends in Carroll for their loving care.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Margaret and Gertrude; her brothers: Bernard, Leonard, Lawrence, Wilbert and Donald; many sisters-in-law; and nephews, Michael and infant Kelly.
