Jim Valenzuela (Frank James Valenzuela) died Friday, December 1, 2017 at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Aurora.
Jim was born December 15, 1954 and raised in Lafayette, CO where he lived surrounded by friends and family. He graduated from Colorado State University and spent his career at Rocky Flats and then Los Alamos lab where he worked hard and loved that it was always something new and challenging.
He is survived by his wife, five brothers, four children, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. To his wife he was a partner in all things, the joys the pains and all of the peaceful in-betweens. To his brothers Jimmy was the Jefe. To his children he was the voice of reason and was looked to for guidance when they felt lost. To his grandchildren Pompo was a huge smile, warm hug and lots of laughs. To know him was to love him. We gather to grieve for the loss of his love and light in this world and also to celebrate his life and keep him in our hearts and memories.
Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Wednesday, December 6, with the Vigil beginning at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00am Thursday, December 7. Interment will follow in Louisville Cemetery.
All services will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville.
