44 Grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, one sister Elna Ponto of Overland Park, KS and one sister-in-law, Patricia Hagarty of Charles City, Iowa.Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Leland Hagarty on January 5, 2006, one son Terry, five grandchildren, three brothers Glen, Claire and Max Hammond, and one sister Lorraine Powers.Marjorie was a member of St. Athanasius Parish, Jesup and St. Pius X Parish, Cedar Rapids. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She truly loved participating in Bible Study with her dear friends from St. Pius. She also served as secretary of the Resident's Council at Hiawatha Care Center.Marjorie was a woman of tremendous faith and wisdom. She will be remembered for her dignity, grace, humility, and compassion. She enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards, quilting, reading, cooking for her family, (especially her potato salad) wintering in Arizona and traveling in their retirement. She loved and was very proud of each of her 99 grandchildren.The family would like to thank the staff at the Hiawatha Care Center for loving and caring for our dear Mother during her 3-year stay.Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous of Iowa or to the Marjorie Hagarty memorial fund for charitable contributions.
