Gerald Wright

Gerald Francis Wright, 67, of Keokuk, died Monday, July 24, 2006, at his home. Mr. Wright was born December 10, 1938, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Lyle and Lois Savage Wright. He was married to Reva Lestina. He served in the United States Army. He lived in the Keokuk area most of his life, including 20 years in Montrose, then moving back to Keokuk in 2004. He was employed by Roquette America for 21 years. When he was younger, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting guns. He loved to cook and grow his vegetable garden. He loved his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Lois Newman of Montrose, Iowa; four children, Laura Hawkins and her husband, Miller, of Keokuk, Frances Wright of Keokuk, Melanie Wright of Keokuk and Wesley Wright of Keokuk; two brothers, James Wright and his wife, Hollene of Jacksonville, Florida and Raymond Wright and his wife, Debra, of Montrose, Iowa; a sister, Arla Wright of Ferris, Illinois; special Friend, Wanda McKay of Ft. Visitation was Thursday, July 27, 2006, at DeJong's Funeral Home. There was no service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the donor's choice.
