Deloris Clara (Kratz) Limpert was born on July 3, 1929 in Winona, MN to Roy and Myrtle (Ladewig) Kratz. She was baptized at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Winona by Pastor Froehlich. On March 12, 1943 she was confirmed in her baptismal faith by Pastor A.L. Menicke. She served as a Sunday School teacher during her high school years at St. Matthews. She attended St. Martin's Lutheran grade school and graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1947. During her high school years she played the violin in the school's orchestra. Following high school, Deloris worked at Standard Lumber Company in Winona. On October 6, 1951 she was married to Roland John Christian Limpert Sr. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Since her new husband loved the outdoors, they honeymooned on the Gunflint Trail in northern Minnesota. Her husband Roland was called to his eternal home on October 31, 1965. Following the death of her husband, Deloris enrolled at Winona State College and graduated in 1976 earning a Bachelor's degree in teaching and later a Master's of Science in Education in 1983. l Bank in Winona. In the fall of 1977 she accepted a teaching position in Lake Benton, MN. The following year she accepted a position at Elgin-Millville High School as a special education teacher. She retired from there in 1994. Deloris enjoyed listening to Andy Williams, traveling and being around family and friends. She was called to her eternal home on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Seasons Hospice House, Rochester, MN.
Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a sister, Joan Broecker. She is survived by her four sons: Roland Limpert Jr. (Dana) of Federalsburg, MD, David Limpert (Susan), John Limpert (Linda) and Jeffrey Limpert (Judy) all of Rochester; a sister, Myrtle Shira of Winona and a brother, Roland "Rollie" Kratz of La Crosse, WI; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Deloris will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at Goodview Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Goodview, MN with Rev. Jeffrey Limpert officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church on Friday.
