Lieselötte Mikesell "Lotte" Mikesell, 85, of Fort Dodge was called to the Lord on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Trinity Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Lieselötte Bayer was born May 25, 1932 in Blaighach, Germany (Bavaria).
Lotte is survived by her children, Irene Marsh (Paul) of Hudson, NC; Ellen Mikesell of Fort Dodge; Robert Mikesell (Christina) of Dallas Center; Michael Mikesell of Fort Dodge; Phillip Mikesell (Kathy) of Des Moines and adopted son, Bobby Mikesell (Jenny) of Iowa Falls; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and large number of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Eleanor Bayer and husband, Wyman.
Lotte was united in marriage to Wyman Mikesell of Fort Dodge in 1957. The couple eventually established their home in Fort Dodge. A child of WWII, Lotte came to the United States barely able to speak English. A determined and strong willed person, she taught herself to read and write in English. She obtained her United States Citizenship in 1961. Those who knew her and were touched by her soul, will always remember her stories of Germany and her adventures.

was handled by Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A private memorial service is to be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials may be directed to the funeral home to be used at the family's discretion.
