Asa Franklin "Ace" Warford, 83, of Keokuk, Iowa, died at 8:31 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at Great River Medical Center in Burlington, Iowa.
Mr. Warford was born July 26, 1923, in Higbee, Missouri, the son of Asa Levi and Josephine Sickman Warford. He married Dorothy G. Emry on June 15, 1946 in Michigan.
He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a journeyman plumber employed by Local 98 in Detroit, Michigan. He had lived in Keokuk since August 1979. He enjoyed restoring Volkswagon Beetles, vintage cars, and trucks. His greatest interest was in older model cars.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Warford of Keokuk; a son, Dale Warford of Waterford, Michigan; a grandson, Daniel Warford; a granddaughter, Courtney Warford; a great great grandson, Michael Warford; Several nieces and nephews.
He was the last of eleven children. He was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters, and one grandson.
Memorial Services were in Keokuk at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 13, 2007, at DeJong's Funeral Home.
