Joe Daniel Myers, age 83 of Estill Springs, passed away after a long hard battle with Alzheimer's on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his residence. He was born on February 8, 1934 in the Maxwell Community of Franklin County, Tennessee to the late Jim David and Tennessee Ethel Kennedy Myers. Mr. Myers was a veteran of the National Guard. He traveled over 50,000 - 60,000 miles a year working for SuperValu Inc. as a meat merchandiser. Prior to that he was meat market manager for H.G. Hills, Kroger and IGA stores. He was of the Baptist faith. In his younger years he enjoyed boating, skiing, swimming, and fishing. Following retirement, he loved being at home and working in the yard. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Jessie Myers and sisters, Rena Mitchell, Flora Growden, Cozetta Stone, Aline Elliott and Evelyne Wilkerson. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Yvonne Myers of Estill Springs; daughter, JoAnn Myers and son, Danny Myers both of Estill Springs, Tn; and one grandchild, Rachel Gamble; one brother-in-law, Glen Wilkerson and a host of good friends, nieces, and nephews also survive him.
