ROSEANN HOWARDMUSCATINE, Iowa - Roseann Marie Howard, 63, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at her home.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at the Shepherd of the Cross Lutheran Church. Reverend Aleese Baldwin will officiate. Private burial will take place in Durant Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Special Education Department of Muscatine Community School District in Roseann's name.
Roseann was born on September 18, 1954, in Burlington, the daughter of Thomas Cummings and Anna Rastetter. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Burlington. She attended Muscatine Community College and graduated from the University of Iowa. She received her Master's degree from St. Ambrose University. Her first marriage was to Henry Vogt in 1974. She later married Dean R. Sessler in 1983, in Wilton, and he preceded her in death. She married William 'Bill' Howard in 2006, in Muscatine. He also preceded her in death.

ecial Education with the Muscatine Community School District. She was deeply involved in politics. She had a passion for theatre and drama in which she performed in several community plays throughout the years. She loved to sew and enjoyed quilting. She also loved antiquing and classic movies. She will be missed by countless family and friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Katherine Vogt of Rockford, Minnesota, Samuel Sessler of Cedar Rapids, and Andrew Sessler of Wilton; step-children, Jessica Sidders of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Barton, Holly and Hannah Howard of Muscatine; her father, Thomas Cummings of Quincy, Illinois; and seven brothers and two sisters.
She is preceded in death by her mother; one son, Jonathon Vogt; husbands, Dean Sessler and Bill Howard; and one sister, Julie.
