Richard H. Hurst

Richard H. "Dick" Hurst, 88, of Waterloo, died at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, on Sunday, December 17, 2017 of natural causes. Richard was born on July 11, 1929 in Waterloo, son of George and Grace (Stafford) Hurst. He graduated from West High School, and then served in the United States Navy. Richard married Yong Cha in 2003 in Waterloo. Richard was the owner and operator of Hurst Plumbing and Excavating with his twin brother, Don, for 35 years until retiring in 1984. Survived by his wife, Yong Hurst of Waterloo; daughter, Tami Hurst, of Florida; twin brother, Don Hurst of Waterloo; a brother, Wesley Hurst of Pennsylvania; a sister, Colleen (Harold) Brown of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews.
