Thomas Francis Hendricksmeyer, 68, of Keokuk, died at 7:45 PM Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Keokuk Area Hospital. Mr. Hendricksmeyer was born February 7, 1940, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Bernard and Mary Frances Loter Hendricksmeyer. He married Neoma Helen Clark on February 20, 1965 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Keokuk. She survives. He attended St. Vincent's Grade School and St. Peter's High School. He graduated from Keokuk Senior High School in 1959. He graduated from Gem City School of Watchmaking and Jewelers in 1963. He was then employed at Likes Jewelers in Keokuk. He was later employed as a machinist at St. Louis Die Casting, Alliance Patterns, Metzeler Automotive and Alcar Manufacturing. He was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 78 in the 1960's. He served in the Iowa National Guard for 9 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and later became a member of Anchor of Hope Church and was very active in the Bridge to Heaven Ministries. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His grandsons were his great joy. Linda, of Keokuk and Jason Hendricksmeyer and his wife, Denise, of Keokuk; two grandsons, Benjamin Hendricksmeyer and Alex Hendricksmeyer of Keokuk; three sisters, Mary Wear and her husband, Rolland, of Carthage, Illinois, Shirley Hendricksmeyer of Keokuk and Helen Stein of Medford, Massachusetts; two brothers, John Hendricksmeyer and his wife, Kathleen, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and William "Bill" Hendricksmeyer of Keokuk; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Anchor of Hope Church with Rev. Steve Hendricksmeyer, Rev. Wesley Davis, and Rev. John Curtis officiating. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the family.
