Beloved husband, father, and minister, Philip Cardwell Falk, 80, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 18, 2017. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 13, 1937 to Elias Falk and Harriet Cardwell Falk. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History at Asbury College, and later, his Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. After college, he enjoyed nine years as a middle school teacher in Jefferson County, Kentucky, and then pursued a life-long interest in working with his hands as a builder and became a residential contractor. After his ordination in 1999, he served as the pastor of both Marion and Crane Presbyterian Churches in western Kentucky, then went on to serve at Decherd Presbyterian Church in Decherd, Farris Chapel United Methodist Church in Winchester, and Harris Chapel United Methodist Church in Estill Springs, from which he had only recently announced his retirement. bee-keeping. He had a compassionate spirit and a genuine interest in other people. During his time in Decherd, he served on several committees, including the board of directors of the Franklin County Resource Development Association and as the chaplain at Good Samaritan Ministries of Franklin County. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Lehr Falk, and their five daughters: Sarah Hendrix (Jerome), Beth Burris (Greg-deceased), Amanda Hendershot (Rich), Mary Robinson (Austen), and Joanna Falk; two grandsons, Gabriel Burris and Zaccary Burris; a brother, David Falk (Patty), and a sister, Carol Smith (Dick). Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, December 21 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 22 at First United Methodist Church in Winchester. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations maybe made to the Presbyterian Missions Agency, Harris Chapel United Methodist Church, Good Samaritan Ministries of Franklin County or the Salvation Army.
