c Church Neptune. They were married by the late Bishop Joseph Mueller of Sioux City, IA. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in the Kingsley area until they retired in 1993 and later moved to Le Mars in 2002. Marcel passed away later that year in April, 2002. Marlys was a member of St. Joseph's Church Neptune for many years. She was a member of the Altar Society. After moving to Le Mars, she was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She cherished spending time with family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards. Survivors include five sons and their wives: Daniel (Sandy) of Lowell, AR; Bruce (Cathy) of State Center, IA; Dean (Paula) of Muscoda, WI; Dick (Karen) of Fort Worth, TX. And Mike of Norco, CA; four daughters: Janet Ann Koopman of Sioux City, IA; Amy (Dan) Harpenau of Le Mars, IA, Patricia Koopman of Sioux Falls, SD and Elaine (Kevin) Partain of Pleasanton, KS; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Sr. Rosalie O.S.B. of Yankton, SD and Ruth Morrissey of Le Mars, IA; one sister-in-law, Darlene Koopman of Le Mars; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel and parents, George and Mary Sitzmann; seven sisters, Sister Annette O.S.M.; Sister Ambrose O.S.M.; Sister Marian O.S.M.; Sister Gertrude O.P.; Sister Esther O.P.; Sister Faith O.S.B. and an infant sister, Vivian Ann; three brothers, Father Marian O.S.B.; Father Alphonse O.S.B.; and an infant brother, Donald; six sister-in-laws: Esther Schnepf, Harriet Goerdt, Sylvia Koopman, Phyllis Koopman, Helen Williams and Bernice Koopman; eight brother-in-laws: Bob Morrissey, Delbert Koopman, Elwood Koopman, Wayne Koopman, Elmer Schnepf, Al Goerdt, Les Koopman and Mark Koopman.
