Ross LeVine, age 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah from heart failure. He was born on Friday, September 28, 1951 in Miami to the late Lloyd and Hazel (Pendergraft) LeVine. Ross worked as a civilian at the Coast Guard Air Station Miami at the Opa-lacka Executive Airport for 40 years. Ross attended Elevate Church in Miami Lakes where he loved to serve and was a member of the choir. Ross was also an active member of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Florida (NFBF). He was also a Miami Heat and Florida Panthers fan and enjoyed listening to their games regularly.
Ross was preceded in death by his brother Mark LeVine. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Sharon LeVine; niece, April Larson and her husband, Jeremy; nephew, Kevin LeVine and his wife, Amanda; two great-nieces and three great-nephews. Ross will also be missed by his Coast Guard family and his church family. Services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. Viewing will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with a memorial service at 1:00 PM.
