Albert Wyrick

Albert Wesley Wyrick, 82, of Montrose, Iowa, died at 3:30 AM Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Great River Hospice House in Burlington, Iowa. Mr. Wyrick was born April 12, 1927, in Argyle, Iowa, the son of Jesse and Dora Morrisey Wyrick. He married Mary Juanita Nickel on June 21, 1945, in Keokuk, Iowa. They were married 64 years and she survives. He had lived in the Tri-State area all his life: in Keokuk, in Luray, Missouri, in Hamilton, Illinois, and in Montrose. He had been employed at Hubingers for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He farmed while living in Luray and owned and operated a motel in Hamilton. He played golf in the past and shot a hole-in-one at Deer Run Golf Course. He loved to travel, especially traveling on his motorcycle. He took up skiing in his fifties. He and Juanita wintered in Phoenix, Arizona, for 24 years and enjoyed the grapefruits from the tree at their home. ad (Ginger) Gutting, Shawn (Lydia) Gutting, Justin Marks, Amy Marks, Carrie (Jake) Forsythe, and Casey (Tony) Gottfried; eleven great grandchildren, A.J., Austin & Adam Gutting, Wesley and William Gutting, Tori and Chance Gottfried, Taylor and Noah Forsythe; Paige and Peyton Gutting; numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Ray, Howard, Lester and Clayton Wyrick. Funeral services were Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk. Burial followed at Kahoka City Cemetery in Kahoka, Missouri.
