Larry V South, 69, of Wayland, Missouri died at 9:20 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at his home. Mr. South was born March 27, 1940 in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Victor M. and Helen A. Johnson South. He married Colleen LeMaster on March 5, 1966 at the Methodist Church in Wayland, Missouri. She survives He lived in the area for forty three years. He was employed by Steel Castings as a steel worker. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW of Keokuk, the Southern Baptist Church in Wayland, Missouri. He was a past member of the Eagles Club. He was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed crossword puzzles. He loved his cats and the love of his life was his grandson, Kevin. He is survived by his wife, Colleen South of Wayland, Missouri; one son, Larry South and his wife Robin of Canton, Missouri; two daughters, Mendy South of Keokuk, Iowa; Elizabeth Rummerfield and her husband Jeff of Kahoka, Missouri; one brother, Chester South and his wife Carla of Kahoka, Missouri; one sister, Linda LeMaster and her husband George of Wayland, Missouri. st donation in lieu of flowers to Keokuk Humane Society. Funeral service was Monday, March 29, 2010 at Alexandria Baptist Church in Alexandria, Missouri with Reverend Randy Ewart officiating. Burial followed at Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa with full military rites.
