rate. The family moved to Moorhead, Minnesota where Eric joined the faculty of Concordia College and the family was active at Peace Lutheran Church in Fargo, North Dakota. In 1963 the family moved to Forest City to be involved with Waldorf College and Immanuel Lutheran Church. Eric was head of the English Department at the college. At Immanuel, Elsie taught Sunday School for a period, was pianist for various groups as needed and served the church women as their president for two years. She also set up the church library card catalog which is still in use. Elsie taught piano for ten years before the time of Eric's retirement from Waldorf. She entered the Good Samaritan Center in January 2001 after EricÃs death. Elsie is survived by her grateful son David and his wife Linda of Council Bluffs, Iowa, her grateful daughter Pauline and her husband, David Gregory of Belgrade, Maine, four grandchildren: Eric Fietz of Council Bluffs, Christopher Fietz of Austin, Texas, Bethany Fietz of Iowa City, Andrew Fietz of Council Bluffs and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Eric, daughter-in-law, Kathleen Fietz, her parents, five sisters (two in infancy) and one brother.
