Alice Gloria Lackore
FOREST CITY ñ Alice G. Lackore, 76, of Forest City died Thursday (September 20, 2007) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City following a brief battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M., Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Forest City with Rev. Jerry Swanberg officiating. Burial will be in Madison Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Friday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Alice Gloria Lackore, the daughter of Walter George and Christina Inga (Tollefson) Ulve, was born August 11, 1931 at Lake Mills. She graduated from Lake Mill High School in 1949. After graduation, she worked at restaurants in Lake Mills and Forest City. On April 5, 1950 she was married to Duane Eugene Lackore at the Methodist parsonage in Forest City. They lived on a farm west of Forest City where they raised their family. Alice loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her granddaughters have many fond memories of her having tea parties with them. nings. Alice found great joy in serving others in the church and community. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church and UMW. She belonged to the Madison Birthday Club, the Forest City American Legion Auxiliary and TOPS. Alice is survived by her husband, Duane, of Forest City; four children, Bradley Lackore of Forest City, Brian (Valerie) Lackore of Forest City, Debra (Gene) Swanson of Forest City and Kevin (June) Lackore of Forest City; ten grandchildren, Jason (Kelly) Lackore, Kristi (Gary) Smith, Kelly (Cory) Hagensick, Melissa Lackore, Justin Lackore, Wayne Chute, Desirae Swanson, Audrey Swanson, Anthony Lackore and Ashley Lackore; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Luella (Loren) Bolstad of Lake Mills; a brother, Vernon Ulve of Lake Mills; a sister-in-law, Alice Sarie of El Paso, TX; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Royden, Ellsworth, Marvin and Wilford Ulve; and sisters, Nora Larson and Dorothy Leegaard.
