Mr. Pat Colvin, 83, of Burlington died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born August 21, 1927 in Fort Madison, he was the son of John F. and Theresa Levens Colvin. In 1966 he married Joan Fowler in New York where they made their home until moving to Iowa. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2010. Mr. Colvin was a 1945 graduate of Fort Madison High School. He entered the Army and served from 1946 until 1950 and then entered the Air Force retiring in 1970. After his military career, he worked at DuPont for 20 years before retiring. Mr. Colvin traveled the world and had a long, fulfilled life. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, watch making, and watching Walker, Texas Ranger, John Wayne and Westerns. He loved eagles and was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Hawkeye fan. His greatest love was his country and his family. Mr. Colvin was a member of the Four Square Gospel Church. ren, Hunter, Kaylynn and Charlie. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, five brothers and one sister. The memorial funeral service for Mr. Colvin will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5th, in Four Square Gospel Church with the Rev. Sam Fratt officiating. Cremation has been accorded. Lunning Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
