CHARLES IVAN PETTIGREW

Charles Ivan Pettigrew, age 85, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Renaissance Village, Fort Wayne, IN where he was admitted 4 days earlier. Born on December 28, 1922 in Union Township, Whitley County, IN he was the son of Charles and Alta (Kissell) Pettigrew.He graduated with the Class of 1942 from Coesse High School, Coesse, IN. On April 21, 1950 he was united in marriage to Martha Ellen Gordon by Rev. Jesse R. Martin at the Nazarene Parsonage in Churubusco, IN. He owned and operated the Pettigrew Family Farm his entire lifetime. He was a member of Centerview Community Church, South Whitley, IN. His hobbies included gardening. Survivors include 2 sons, Daniel Lee (Debra) Pettigrew of Columbia City and David A. (Cindy) Pettigrew of South Whitley, IN; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Joy (Robert) Haney of Columbia City.
