Viola M. Gevers, age 88, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away at 10:35 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Lutheran Homes Inc., Fort Wayne, IN. Born on January 5, 1921 in Whitley County, IN, she was the daughter of James E. and Maude (Denner) Clifford.She graduated with the Class of 1939 from the Arcola High School, Arcola, IN. On November 29, 1941 she was united in marriage to Edmund "Ed" Herman Gevers in the Soest Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, IN. A resident of Arcola from 1952 until her husband passed away in 1997, she then moved to Fort Wayne. A devoted wife, mother and homemaker, she worked as a cook for 29 years at Arcola School and she was a member of Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne.Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca A. (C. Dean) Williams of Crestview, FL and Shelley R. (Terry) Lamb of Santee, SC; son, Duane R.
