Virgil E. Tegland

FOREST CITY - Virgil E. Tegland, age 72 of Forest City, died Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at his home in rural Forest City. It was Virgil's wish that his body be cremated. There will be a Private Family Service held at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in the spring at Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City. Virgil E. Tegland was born in Goodell, IA on August 25, 1935, the son of Truman and Leta (Roberts) Tegland. He received his education in county schools around Forest City and graduated from Chester High School in Chester, IA. On February 11, 1956, he was united in marriage to Faye Pletcher in Emmons, MN. The couple has made Forest City their home their entire married lives. Virgil owned and operated ìVirgís Radio & TV Repairî in Forest City for many years. After retirement, he worked as a Security Guard at Fleetguard in Lake Mills and Armour in Britt. For many years he served on the Forest City Fire Department. Virgil enjoyed going fishing, working in the garden and tinkering around his shop. Forest City; Cathy Brower and husband Steve of Clear Lake; Jeff and wife Julie of Forest City, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers, Ted Tegland of Cokato, MN and Dean Tegland of Moose Lake, MN. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, his son Tony and a sister, Helen Myre.
