HOWARD LEROY HINTON

Howard LeRoy Hinton, 83, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday January 2, 2013 at Norwood Nursing Center in Huntington. He was born August 26, 1929 in Fairmount, Indiana and he was the son of the late Oral and Estia Marie (Zentemyer) Hinton. Howard attended Anderson High School and was a WWII veteran who served in the U.S. Marines.He later earned a degree in engineering during his 40 year career with General Motors as a Journeyman/Millwright. On August 21, 1976 Howard married Carol (Stump) Frank in Huntington.Membership affiliations include the Masons, Blue Lodge, 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite, and Shriners. Howard really enjoyed woodworking with his vast assortment of tools he had collected. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years Carol of Roanoke; children Paul(Sue) Hinton of Centerpoint, Howard R. Hinton of Brazil, ReAnn (Tom) Donaghy of Fort Wayne, Tammy (Mark) Boohaw of Brazil, Kim (Perry) Myers of Huntington, Tim (Toni) Frank of Elkhart; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
