JOANN M. PAULUS

JoAnn M. Paulus, age 85, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 7:30 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2013 at Parkview Oaks, Columbia City. Born on March 27, 1928 in Whitley County, she was the daughter of Oren E. and Fern (Kyler) Sroufe. She has lived in Whitley County her entire life.She graduated from Larwill High School with the Class of 1947. On October 2, 1988 she married Leon Paulus at Merriam Christian Chapel.She worked for Whitley Products for over 20 years and Essex for 15 years. She was a member of Columbia City Community Bible Church, Eagles Lodge #1906, and Moose Lodge, both of Columbia City, American Legion #258 at Pierceton and VFW in Columbia City. Survivors include her son, Jimmy (Lois) Brandenburg of Columbia City; daughters, Glenda Ervin of Claypool and Karen Wildey of Greenwood; step-daughter, Cheryl Merrit of Fort Wayne; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 7 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; first husband, Russell Brandenburg; brothers, Robert and Bill Sroufe; and sister, Betty Webster.
