Donald C. Hatfield, 75, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away in his sleep Monday morning, August 1, 2016 at his home. Born July 26, 1941 in Blue Lake of Whitley County, he was the son of Richard E., Sr. and Edna L. (Henline) Hatfield. Growing up in Noble County, he attended Kendallville High School and then moved to Whitley County in 1958. Don went on to join the U.S. Army and went on to work 19 years for International Harvester in Fort Wayne and retired in August of 2003 from BRC Rubber Co. in Churubusco. On October 14, 2006, Don married Lois I. (Hart) Workman in Columbia City. He attended First Church of God and was a talented piano player, playing just by sound. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and cutting wood. Survivors include his loving wife, Lois Hatfield; daughter, Angie (Tim) Bridegam, of Columbia City; brother, Steve (Norma) Hatfield, of South Whitley; stepsons, J.C.(LuAnn) Workman, of Churubusco and John (Chris) Workman of Columbia City; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
