Donna M. Grimes

Donna M. Grimes, 80, of Kimmell, passed away at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Parkview Noble Hospital. Born December 16, 1936 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Earl and Wilma M. (Ernst) Stidham. Donna was raised on a farm near Larwill and attended Columbia City High School. On June 1, 1956 she married James Grimes, Jr. Donna was a homemaker. Since 1971 she has been a resident of Noble County, moving from Iowa. While living in Iowa, Donna was a foster parent. She loved being around babies and children. She enjoyed baking, tending to her flower garden, drawing and was an excellent poet. Survivors include her children, Cathy (Daniel) Eberly, of Ligonier, James Grimes, III, of Smalley Lake, Michael (Dawn) Grimes, of North Webster and Angela (William) Smith, of Arnaudville, La.; brothers, Robert Stidham, of New Mexico, James (Rita) Stidham, of San Antonio, TX; sister, Judy Stidham, of Houston, TX; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Grimes, Jr.; sister, Carol Manns-Chavez; and brother, William B. Stidham.
