Rick was born in Chicago to Raymond and Florence Prucha. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1971 with a degree in accounting. Rick met his wife, Kathy, while in college and they were married for over 47 years. He spent a 27-year career with Motorola in Schaumburg, IL, serving first in the general accounting department and ending up in materials and manufacturing management. After retiring, he and his family moved to Colorado in 1999. Rick loved his family, the mountains, traveling and playing golf. He spent many years volunteering in Rocky Mountain National Park and also worked for the park's shuttle-bus company for many summers. Rick is survived by his wife Kathy (MacKay), daughter Lauren, son-in-law Rob Davis and grandsons Noah and Caleb as well as his brother Robert (Alice) Prucha and nieces Karen Frost, Julia (Ryan) Johnson, Kimberly (Adam) Phillips and nephew Mike Prucha.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Risen Savior Lutheran Church, Broomfield, Colorado or The Rocky Mountain Conservancy, Estes Park, Colorado.
