Mary M. Stafford, 81, of Waterloo, died at the Martin Center of the Western Home Communities, on Thursday, December 21, 2017 of natural causes. Mary was born on January 15, 1936 in Waterloo, daughter of Robert and Pauline (Welter) Peverill. She graduated from Gilbertville High School in 1956. She continued her education at Gates Business College. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper. Survived by her four daughters, Cynthia Stafford of Edwards, MO, Debra (William) Metzger and Rebecca Peters both of Cedar Falls, and Lisa (Doran) Scott of Ruthven; Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Peverill of Evansdale and Thomas (Dixie) Peverill of San Benito, TX, and Timothy (Mary) Peverill of Waterloo; and three sisters, Marlene Boldt of Waterloo, LaVonne (Larry) Graves of Webster City and Christine (Larry) Smock of Waterloo. Preceded in death by her parents; two brothers in infancy, Ronald and James; a grandson, Billy Metzger; a brother-in-law, Richard Boldt; and a sister-in-law, Janette Peverill. She enjoyed spending her time painting tea towels and being with family.
