Floyd Hauswirth, 83, of Burlington, died at 10:03 PM Saturday, December 23, 2017, at the Prairie Ridge Care & Rehabilitation in Mediapolis.
Born October 4, 1934, in Burlington, he was the son of Henry and Gladys Stigge Hauswirth.
He worked at McKesson and Robbin Whole Sale Drugs from 1953 until 1956. He then began working at General Electric, and was one of the first employees hired when the factory first opened in Burlington. He worked at G.E. for 35 years.
He graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1953.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving from 1956 until 1960; spending two years in Japan.
He was of Lutheran faith and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mediapolis. He enjoyed fishing, going out on the river and going to his cabin on the river. He enjoyed collecting quilts and hanging out with friends.
Survivors include his sister, Virginia Robu of West Point; two sisters-in-law, Dixie Hauswirth of Morning Sun and Donna Hauswirth of Sperry; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
Private family burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mediapolis.
