Donald Joseph Stuhldreher, age 82, of Indianapolis passed away December 26, 2017. Don was born on August 28, 1935 to the late Walter and Mildred (Brosnan) Stuhldreher. He was a proud graduate of Cathedral High School and the University of Notre Dame. Don served in the Indiana National Guard and was a member of the Service Club and City Club of Indianapolis. He was utterly devoted to his family, his community, and the Catholic Church, wherein he was a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre. Don worked at Indiana National Bank for 22 years, and at Huntington Bank in Columbus, Ohio, from where he retired in 1990. Don leaves many, many friends and associates in Columbus, in addition to the multitude in Indianapolis, as well as those from the area around his and Toni's favorite place on earth, their cottage at Lake Leelanau, Michigan, where they spent countless days and seasons with family and friends 'in paradise.' Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou (Kaiser) Stuhldreher; by his brother, Walter ("Bud"); and sister, Anne Kessing. Also survived by his brother William (Mary Kay) Stuhldreher of Indianapolis, and by his sister Marjorie (William) Tobin, of Anchorage, Alaska. Survived also by his greatest treasure and light of his life, Don and Toni's 19 grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday December 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Visitation and calling was held Friday December 29, 2017, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel.
