Gene Alan "Crash" Michels, 54, passed away at his home in Charles City, Iowa on Sunday, the 17th of December, following an extended illness.
He was born to Edmond Michels and Margaret Bennett Michels on September 3, 1963, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Laurie, and brother Phillip.
He leaves behind his wife Carol; brother Larry; daughter Jessica Myer; grandchildren Zakery, Haydn, Jadelynn, and Jeffrey; his step-daughter Ana and her husband Jesse Mitchell; as well as countless friends.
Gene loved music, cooking, his computer, and most of all, his family.
Gene has been employed as a sound board technician, notably at First Avenue in Minneapolis. The occupation that made him the happiest was carnival ride operator, both on the road and at Como Park in St. Paul.
A celebration of life will be held at Como Park in the summer of 2018.
